Do we eat too much sugar? I like to think my mostly healthy diet makes up for my sweet tooth but if I’m honest, I always go for dessert, snack a lot and eat way too much ‘healthy’ chocolate.
After hearing from Dr. Robert Lustig, Professor of Paediatric Endocrinology at the University of California, you might want to rethink your sugar intake too.
Today we’re talking about why too much sugar is so harmful, the benefits of cutting back, why fruit isn’t the enemy, the real differences between sugars, the blood tests worth getting and why a calorie isn’t always just a calorie.
Dr. Lustig also shares some exciting new research with Dr. Rachel Gow on making ultra-processed foods healthier. Could this be the answer to a public health crisis? Only time will tell.
