Hiroshi Samejima/Political journalist.

He served as deputy chief of the Asahi Shimbun political department and won the Newspaper Publishers & Editors Association Award. With the aim of making Japanese politics easier to understand, we deliver political commentary videos every day. Sometimes challenging, sometimes humorous, we will dig deep into political news and provide a proactive explanation. In 2021, at the age of 49, he became independent and established "SAMEJIMA TIMES". In 1994, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Kyoto University and joined the Asahi Shimbun. He is responsible for a wide range of politicians from both the ruling and opposition parties, including Naoto Kan, Heizo Takenaka, Makoto Koga, Kaoru Yosano, and Nobutaka Machimura. In 2010, at the exceptionally young age of 39, he became the desk editor of the political department, and in 2012, he became the desk editor of the special news department. He has led numerous investigative reports and won the Newspaper Publishers & Editors Association Award for his report on "sloppy decontamination." He has contributed to Sunday Mainichi and President Online, and has appeared on TV Asahi and ABEMA many times. His "Asahi Shimbun Political Department" (Kodansha), which candidly depicts the collapse of a huge newspaper company, became a bestseller. His recent works include "Politics that Never Gives Up" and "Politicians' Balance Sheets." Co-authored with Izumi Fusao: "Politics is a fight!"
