Baker City: Art, Heart, & the End of Flixbus Service 🚍 #StopRequested

Baker City, a town where they auction salt licks as art, has a lot of heart and a lot of wit. It’s easy to love but not easy to get into by public transit.

We had to sneak off the Flixbus (formerly Greyhound) in town as it’s an “unofficial stop.”

“At least for Baker City in particular, we now have very, very limited public transit options to get out of the city,” Matt Krabacher, Association of Oregon Rail & Transit Advocates, told OPB.

Soon, you won’t even be able to sneak in. Flixbus has announced that it will cancel service in Eastern Oregon along I-84 after Jan. 15, 2025, leaving stretches of Northeastern Oregon without intercity bus service.
