At this point, I'm convinced that the IX Remake is an Andy Kaufmann level prank being played by the industry. Every few months, it's being rumored to be st the next Direct/Showcase/State of Play. And it's been that way for 3 years now. At this point, I'm not believing it exists until I'm actually playing it.

This IX Remake shit has been in development fooooooooooooreeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvveeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr despite supposedly being this low budget, faithful remake. I'm honestly going to be a bit miffed if it doesn't have time traveling plot ghosts revealing this is really IX-2, action combat, and a bunch of jazz and EDM tracks to replace the original Uematsu tracks at this point.

5:12 2022 Famitsu interview right after announcing it would be three parts. Nomura claimed he had always planned for three parts, but talks about how early on Kitase brought up the possibility of there being only two. They eventually agreed on three. This is given as the reasoning as for why they waited until the anniversary to announce how many parts there would be. It was always unofficially up in the air.

There was never verified information about FFIX though the Anniversary site could be a clue if at all. However I do see it as a possibility because think about it the expectations graphically of a FF17 would be huge so 9 Remake would be easier to manage. Also would be very entertaining seeing that crazy funny frog tongue guy in modern graphics and voice acting.

Well more exposure the better for FF7R Part 1 and 2, and to be fair on 7:06 I was just as confused as Nate on that as well for the speculation of FF9 Remake being at Nintendo Direct being shown because there no info alluding to it being revealed unlike the Anniversary on July 7th which is more of chance of “Big IF” it will show up there

For exclusivity windows for FF7R games, keep in mind the actual window might be a few months (I believe Rebirth window was 3 months) but the time it takes to release that port may take longer (May 2024 to January 2025 is about 8 more months beyond the exclusivity window for Rebirth).

I could be wrong, I think everyone is afraid to announce their games this year. I think the gaming industry is waiting for Rockstar to make their move. People will drop whatever they are playing to play GTA, no one is dropping GTA to play something else. I noticed that at the Switch 2 direct. They only had announcements for 2 games this year. Mario Kart and Donkey Kong. Those are coming out in the next 3 months. No release date for Metriod or Hyrule Warriors.

I have thought for some time that FF7R games were coming to an Xbox console eventually and I still do, but what if "coming to Xbox" just meant coming to Game Pass through PC Game Pass? It is an idea I would have completely disregarded before the "This Is an Xbox" marketing campaign.

while ignoring Sony has a exclusive console agreement for the trilogy
Enix is not going to risk a lawsuit, just so XBOX players can play FF7
