The greatest trilogy of all time
There's some good in this world, and It's worth fighting for.
As a musician myself, I have no idea...I can not even contemplate how it was even possible for Howard Shore to come up with not just one, but a plethora of masterpieces for this soundtrack. The entire soundtrack is literal god-tier. There's nothing that even comes close.
"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going, because they were holding on to something."
"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's fighting for."
– Samwise Gamgee
This story, this music and this trilogy should be added in some sort of UNESCO Heritage for culture. They are one of the best things that humanity came up with! Yesterday I finished the trilogy (extended, of course), for the 10th time at least. Yesterday I cried again at that scene with the hobbits in the end (in Gondor), even though I always say that I will not cry anymore when I see it. The way that everyone expressed such raw, real emotions is something I have not yet watched in other movies. Every single detail in the frame, in the expressions of the actors, the music, everything is pure perfection. There should be a national holiday for J.R.R. Tolkien for blessing humanity with the gift of this story <3
The greatest feeling created from that trilogy is that you connect all those battles and struggles to your everyday life battles and struggles and then listening this wonderful music you get inspired to move on and “decide what to do with the time that is given us...”
NEVER EVER GOING TO BE REPLICATED - THE GREATEST MOVIES EVER CREATED!
P E R I O D
The brilliance of this trilogy makes me cry sometimes.
We are all fortunate to have these films. The time, art, music, and craftsmanship it takes to make a world like Middle Earth is unlikely to happen again. This is great Matogolf
RIP Ian Holm 1939-2020
I"ll watch Lord of the rings For you Bilbo, I will always be adventurous because of you...
No matter how many years pass....I will always get gossebumps listening to this.....Even tears come out sometimes.....Howard Shore made a masterpiece....
There are films that don't age well. And then there is Peter Jackson who makes THREE timeless pieces as a trilogy.

Around this moment you can just imagine Frodo saying "I'm going to Mordor alone" and sam saying "and I'm coming with you!".
This is truly a masterpiece :)
Looks like great music is back on the menu boys!
That artwork is astonishing.
One of the best cinematographic projects ever made.
God bless you, Peter Jackson, Howard Shore and of course JRR Tolkien.
"It's a dangerous business, matogolf, upload videos like this on youtube"
Finally here, give that man a cookie.
Good notation of individual tracks.
People dont seem to understand the deep spiritual meanings of this trilogy. Its about pushing forward through all the darkness of your life to do what is right.
"All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that we are given"
"That theres some good in this world, and its worth fighting for"
Just look at the poster for the video. On the left is green = peace, nature. As we go to the right its red = violence, war, industry. So much symbolism in these films
I cried multiple times durning this session. I feel weirdly sad like I was missing home a place I want return that doesn’t exist. Almost like my souls was escaping body and touching this different other world filled with emotional ecstasy.
I get this feeling when I listen to instrumental/choir music and when high in the mountains. Thanks for sharing this masterpiece !
