"‘The Preachings Of A Middle Class White Girl’ tells the story of my school career between the ages of 8 and 17. I wrote the poem whilst still in full time education, and was beginning to recognise some fundamental flaws within the education system; namely, that schools benefit certain types of people more than others and are not providing equal opportunities for all. I felt the need to write the poem for people still in school who feel excluded because they’re not obtaining high grades or are simply don't valued in the same way as their peers. You are more than a grade on a piece of paper, and no culture or class is superior to another.”

Imogen is a 19 year old writer and theatre maker from Bristol. She fell in love with creating things at a young age, and since has performed her original spoken word and theatre pieces across Bristol and the South West. Her work builds bridges between the political, the social, and the personal, with the aim of making the world a more hopeful, open minded place.
