I had never been far off the trapper creek exit of the highway before. We decided to do some exploring to see what the area was like. There is an established gravel road for a very long way back through Petersville and beyond. We made it roughly 25 miles from the truck on four-wheelers. You could get a vehicle back on this road, but it would be very bumpy, and you'd go a lot slower compared to on an ATV.

The area is beautiful. Big open mountain scenes, small rivers and canyons, and wildlife. I'll definitely be doing this trip again soon. The trail was not super busy with machines, which was really nice. I bet the trail gets much busier during specific hunting seasons.
