Thank you for these updates. It’s maddening that airlines are adding seats to planes and therefore needing to increase the boarding time, while also allowing reservations with very short connections. It’s so stressful!
As an experienced travel advisor with more than 30 years experience, I DO NOT understand how these airlines are getting away with these short connecting times! It’s a recipe for disaster! Then you end up with so many stressed out people at the airport. I wrote to Pete Buttigieg about. Never heard back! The lack of under seat space is making me crazy too. There are so many small things airlines could do to improve the experience, but it’s all about the $$$!
One interesting travel hack that's only applicable to my local airport (MKE) is a coat check service -- you can wear your bulky winter coat to the airport, check it at a specific location on the concourse, pay a $2/day fee (I think it maxes at $10), go on your trip to your tropical destination, then when you land back home in MKE you can pick up your coat again! It'd be nice if more northern airports rolled this out!
So glad you cautioned us about the possible electronic boxes under seats. Earlier this year I encountered that on a 757 aisle seat on an overseas flight and it made for a less than smooth flight because I had my bag packed "just so" for ease. But once I got my bag wedged in (turning it like you suggested), it wasn't easy to access,so many of my creature comforts weren't available. Now I pack a small pouch of "must haves" that fit in the seat back in case my bag has to be wedged again. I know this is a 1st world problem, but others will appreciate being made aware! Happy New Year, Laurie!! 🎉💕
I appreciate your description of downloading Netflix videos. As a 54 year old, these things don’t come naturally! My husband and son showed me for our last trip and what a great, fun way to spend time in the air!😊
Airlines don’t make travel fun. All they want is your money. Thank you for the hacks!
I just think you are adorable! Plus, your tips and hacks are so very helpful!! Thank you!
Wow, from year-to-year things change, it is mind blowing. You have the best advice: research your carrier's requirements before you even buy your ticket. Thanks for another great video. Happy New Year!
I'm flying in February and will be watching this again. Thanks for the heads up. Makes it kind of stressful that they are changing things on us! Ugh. Appreciate all of your hacks and advice!
I'm traveling to England in September, so that charge for the UK is helpful. If airlines add any more seats, there won't be any room for passengers, and the added weight of luggage will overload the plane. Enough is enough! Merry Christmas 🎄
Love the vibe of this channel, so good!
Your tutorials are always top-notch!
I'm planning to move to the Netherlands from India next month and I'm just getting started on the packing. Your videos are my evening ritual. I love your practical tips, your warm demeanor and how wholesome you are when you mention your family in between (your pilot husband, you buying stuff for your in laws). It doesn't have much to do with your content but it just feels so comforting and warm to hear these little bits of your life mentioned. I've seen a lot of your carry on tips now. I'd LOVE a video where you talk about light weight but sturdy large suitcases (coz I have to pack my life up!) and some other tips that I could use. Love and warm wishes for the new year!❤
I just applied for my ETA to enter the UK and it was so easy and I was approved within minutes. it's good for 2 years. I will have to do one for Europe too. I did notice less space under the seat on my last flight. I always download stuff from Netflix and Amazon to watch on the flight
Your videos are always so timely and straight forward. Thank you for all you do for the community. I hope you and your family have wonderful holidays!
Good tips! Turbulence - keep your seatbelt on at all times as Turbulence can happen quickly! While embedded visas are normally error proof, save the email that can prove "just in case".
Also if traveling in EU keep an eye for when their visa due in 2025.
No one needs to put a coat in bin - makes a good pillow! The bins are always so full so if everyone did it....
Thank you for the effort of alerting and guiding us along. Today is New Year Eve, wish you a very joyful, colorful, peaceful and prosperous 2025.
Numerous FAs were injured by lifting bags and the airline and insurance companies deny our worker's comp claims because we aren't technically "working". We aren't being paid or being paid full wage. The FAA declared that whenever the seat belt sign is on and we are not engaging in an emergency or safety procedure, they will not pay any claims we may have. That's our government in action!
I want to travel with you Laurie. You make me feel so confident about traveling. Recently went to Australia and actively researched everything you had. I got many helpful hacks. Thank you....let's go somewhere!
