Self imposed solitude is pure bliss. Solitude imposed by others is pure hell.

Solitude is food for the soul. It's not dangerous, it's the key to freedom.

@ContortedAngel

I love being alone, being around lots of people for more than a few hours drains me.

being lonely is dangerous, once you realize how peaceful it is you don't want to deal with people anymore

@dantobarbarian4842

Solitude is not always a burden. When done voluntarily it can have great benefits for the individual and allow him to truly learn more about himself rather than just being a copy of everyone else.

Fake friends, getting dumped, broken home and divorced parents made me a solitary person.

@struttingbirdlofi

I relate hard. About 7 years ago I dropped out of college to become a musician and writer (it was a deep calling). I had to retreat into solitude for a number of reasons 1. To study the works of the greats, 2. To escape the putdowns of those whom I knew up until that point, 3. To discover/gain confidence in my true self. It's been a hard road and many times I've felt bordering a psychotic break but ultimately I'm glad I chose my most honest path. Sometimes I wish I could take it back and remain part of the crowd but the emptiness of that is what pushed me into this path anyway.

@richardlanier2113

When you seclude yourself and let go of attachments it helps you realize the lies and deceit created within society. I consider my physical disability a curse, yet it is a blessing. Since I have had to quit working I have learned much about myself that I wouldn't have had time to figure out.

@MzSoulll

I feel like I'm a little too comfortable with solitude. I find it harder to connect with other people, because often times the things I seek out are easily found when i contemplate and investigate those things alone. There are of course cases when a companion will rescue me from something in a way that proves community is more a benefit than a vice. And I do believe that it is a benefit ultimately. But man...being alone--having total freedom to my thoughts, my art, my writing, my prayers to God. No other time makes me feel more alive.

@luken4072

Self-imposed solitude without forced isolation is healthy. Overcoming the fear of being alone is a profound facet of self-mastery. For me, it is a blissful achievement.

There's a difference between being lonely and alone.
I'm never lonely!
