they made the runway but with the wingtip and right main gear hitting first, which yawed the aircraft to the right. check airman denny fitch had both engines set to full power 4 seconds before impact, which caused the left wing to fly after impact and begin a cartwheel down the runway and the wreckage made its way into the cornfields.

Flight attendant Jan Brown told a mother to put her child on the ground saying "it would be fine" but the child ended up dying from smoke inhalation. and rest in peace Captain Al Haynes who passed away in 2019 🕊️
