Carved a beautiful walking stick out of maple, butternut and cedar for the staff. Made a rams skull and horns. Using saws, files, rotary tools/burrs and a lot of sanding, ended up with a lightweight walking stick.
Made the spiral for the horns from a branch of butternut that I had leftover from a previous build. The maple for the skull was from a firewood log, it was tough to cut through but the Kutzall burrs made the job of carving it much easier.
The finish is Teak oil and the skull got 2 coats of polyurethane.
