Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, is experiencing a boom in secondhand clothing...Young people are now gathering in this town to pursue their dreams by selling secondhand clothing. It's like a gold rush, with the number of secondhand clothing stores in Shimokitazawa doubling in five years. Now, 200 stores are crowded together, and a fierce battle for survival is unfolding over secondhand clothing... "It's been my childhood dream to run a secondhand clothing store in Shimokitazawa," says Takara (34), who is from Hokkaido and runs a store on the third floor of a multi-tenant building. He has a stronger love for secondhand clothing than anyone else, and stocks his store with his carefully selected vintage T-shirts, but his bank account balance is only 90,000 yen. "We're barely making ends meet. Every day is a battle," he says, as he continues to live a modest life while maintaining his store. Takara's "partner" who pursues his dream together with him is Toui (27), who is from Okinawa. He is in charge of another small store run by Takara. Married and with a family, he says, "I want to succeed with my beloved secondhand clothing," but sales are not growing and his monthly income is about 100,000 yen. The two pursue their dreams in "secondhand clothes" and take on a life-threatening gamble. We watched their heart-shaking struggle in the town of Shimokitazawa...
