“it feels like an actual movie” is such a beautifully backhanded compliment
"They're calling it a movie!"
The A24 of movie studios of youtube channels
“Wait, people like good movies?” -CEO’s
Every review I've seen on social media is people basically saying, "It's a real movie where something actually happens." The bar is on the floor.
“Gas station sandwich wasn’t that bad” is the perfect analogy for the state of blockbuster movies today. WOW.
It turns out that focusing on telling a good story is more important than teasing future sequels that might come out in 5-10 years if it doesnt die in pre-production
Turns out audiences really relate to a movie about severe, crippling depression.
Welcome to the 2020's, lol.
I enjoy the recurring “dejected movie exec” character
10/10 on that last line, I'll go back to forgetting Eternals in a few minutes, but that's what makes the joke unexpected
I hope they actually greenlight Eternals 2 and call it E2rnals.
"No one is ever really gone." - Eternal 2 : The Dead Speak
As dumb as it sounds, during the golden age of Marvel there was a sense we had that they had “solved” how to make entertaining blockbuster movies. Then like, marvel got bad… and the Jurassic world movies were bad… and the star wars sequels were bad… and the illusion was shattered
Honestly, I‘m digging this new format of the already tired of life Executive just wallowing in a corner while his assistant tries to cheer him up/keep him alive by giving him every slightly positive news they get.
Thunderbolt was honestly a new fresh of air for me, with other movies like guardian of the galaxy 3, Deadpool and wolverine. It felt so good to watch, the movies plot was obvious i mean come on how could they possibly defeat a god like being, but the execution of the plot was what mattered, it was perfect and the redemption of walker was peak.
It’s no surprise that marvel’s two best films post endgame have been GOTG 3 and Thunderbolts which focused on characters overcoming their trauma, accepting themselves and moving on. CBMs are at their best when they focus on telling great character stories first and big action set pieces second. The Batman another example and Gunn’s suicide squad.
Thunderbolts was a 2h traumadump and therapy session that was more effective than any actual counselor in social services or either of my parents 8/10
0:11 the thing is that I feel like it was fun when it was good and then it was fun when it was bad to make fun of it
ROLLER COASTER TYCOON MENTIONED thank you
Disney's: I want a spin off TV series starring the least expensive member of the cast, I want all current MCU projects to reference the events of Thunderbolts*, I want a video game, I want a Frozen crossover, I want the director to handle phase 7, 8 & 9-
