Guest Dies at Cruise Line Private Island

A family's vacation cruise to The Bahamas turned tragic when 26-year-old Akeem Charles drowned at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, a private island owned by MSC cruise line. The family alleges that the artificial island's beach is unsafe and blames the lifeguard's lack of proper CPR training for contributing to Charles's death. Carnival’s brand ambassador, John Heald, is speaking out after rumors were circulating online that towel animals would stop on November 1. Michael Bayley, the President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, announced on Wednesday that two cruises on the Radiance of the Seas ship have been canceled for this month due to a technical issue with the Azipod propulsion system. The first cancellation was for the September 1st sailing, and despite ongoing repairs by specialized technicians from Northern Europe, the ship will also not be ready for the September 8 sailing.
