🌿 MY VAMPIRE CRAB REGAINED ITS CLAWS | TERRAQUAMAN

Ciao ragazzi !
A few weeks ago, two of my vampire crabs lost both their claws and a few legs.

Without claws, foraging and hunting for food is almost impossible, and on top of that, the crabs are defenceless.

Vampire crabs are very aggressive, especially during mating season or when defending their territory.
This aggression can result in claws and limbs being literally torn off.

I know it sounds brutal.

To give them a chance to survive, I set up a hospital paludarium for Cosima and Ignazio and hoped they would recover.

I was a bit skeptical, to be honest. I didn’t think it was possible.

So, I reached out to a pro, Indoor Ecosystem, who told me that vampire crabs can recover all lost limbs, including claws.

The only thing they can’t recover are their eyes.

This gave me hope. I watched them patiently every day, fed them a variety of foods, and they seemed to enjoy their new home.

Until yesterday, when I noticed something strange…
