I remember being 5 years old and absolutely loving this scene. I'd be out on the lawn with my Frisbee going full TRON mode
This movie is nothing short of incredible
I think that in the early 1980s, it took MONTHS to do this one light cycle scene with a massive mainframe computer, if not a supercomputer. Today, just about anyone with a PC and Blender could probably recreate this scene in less than a day. This doesn't make the scene any less stunning to me, though!
"Get them. Send out every game tank in the grid. AND WHO IS PLAYING PAC-MAN!?"
Nothing looked or sounded like this…..skipped home and escaped on my Atala 10 speed and rode 5 miles to the mall with my best friend to watch this in summer 1982. I was not disappointed
The most iconic scene of this movie.
God this film was so cool in the cinemas when it first came out.
Namco must have paid a ridiculous sum of money to Disney, for them to include that Pac man cameo and sound effects on Sark's monitor board... LOL. The golden age of video games!
Timeless work of art 🎨 ✨ story so solid ...special effects will be special 1000 years from today 😅
The God Father of CGI. I was 18 when this came out. Needless to say, I was blown away. The Digital World sights and sound effects were a first in movie history, and so cool to see and hear for the first time. But, this Light Cycle scene was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. Still today, one of the best CGI concepts there ever was. And the Recognizers were some bad-asses.
It's absolutely mind-blowing how revolutionary this film is. This is truly a piece of great art.❤
Gotta love the deep helicopter-like sound of the recognizers.
The way they just blast at full speed as soon as they're in the bikes... awesome.
It's amazing how much digital effects have evolved since Tron.
Going from this to the world of Pandora in the Avatar films is nothing short of incredible.
42 years old this July 9th and still an awesome movie
Totally Stunning Still after all the years past.Sounds Stunning after
All again years past... Sounds Awesome with Ear buds!!!
Ive seen those crash faces before. On guys that thought their bikes could take right-angle turns IRL.
One of the best movies out there and was great back then and still one of my top 5 movies of all time. With all they had back then this movie is a killer.
Very artistic-bravo Disney team!
