We knew that with the upcoming Google algorithm update taking Core Web Vitals into account that we would get hammered. We just didn't realize how much our blog traffic would drop.

This year it's down over 50%.

Part of this is due to our increased focus on YouTube over the blog, but a huge portion of it comes from a bloated, slow, website that hasn't been overhauled in years.

With the help of Matt Giovanisci and the ridiculously good Carbonate theme, we overhauled our entire site. We now pass all Google Core Web Vitals with flying colors, and we're working to bring that traffic back.
