The committee is made up of 11 people, including scholars and experts in culture and the arts, as well as two public members selected through a prefectural public recruitment process to directly reflect the voices of the prefecture's citizens.

The Prefectural Hall will close at the end of March due to deterioration, 50 years after its opening. It has been decided that a new facility will be "rebuilt" at its current location.

At the first meeting, the "outline" of the basic concept was presented, and in the future, the size of the new hall, the role the facility will play, measures for the pipe organ in the small hall, etc. will be considered while collecting opinions from the prefecture's citizens on the website and elsewhere.

"I want to make it in a way that brings together as many opinions as possible. This is the last of the grand finale, and it's something I promised you when I got on stage. I want to restart as soon as possible."

The committee will put together a "draft" of the basic plan by the end of this fiscal year.
