「山迴」即為環山繞林的旅程，作品共分五個段落：〈序〉、〈巨木〉、〈沐雨〉、〈山動〉、〈山〉。作品旨在呈現臺灣大山極具特色且多變的的光景及面貌，透過側面描寫山中的元素，紀錄下一幀幀溫暖卻激動人心的山中影像。嗩吶高亢時吹起山谷裡山歌的回音，喚起原始大地的躁動，看見巨木在時間流淌中生長的痕跡；而細膩時聽見林中綿延的雨聲及溪水潺潺，又或是閃爍的蛙鳴及沈默的土石。

「感受被山林擁抱的溫暖、靜靜看著山頭被雲霧撫過⋯⋯」嗩吶協奏曲《山迴》期盼引導聽者進入山域，喚醒深藏內心中，對大自然的共鳴。

作品由嗩吶演奏家曾榆尹委託創作並於2023年臺北國家演奏廳以室內樂編制首演，作曲家為此次音樂會改寫為樂團協奏版本。

"Detour to the Mountains" invites listeners on a musical journey that winds through lush forests and encircles towering peaks. Divided into five sections—Intro, Giant Tree, Rainwash, Mountain Tremor, and Mountains—the piece vividly portrays the ever-changing landscapes and the unique allure of Taiwan’s majestic mountains. Through the dynamic and expressive voice of the Suona, the composition brings these vivid scenes to life. Its soaring tones resonate like mountain ballads echoing through valleys, awakening the earth’s primal energy and tracing the growth of ancient trees shaped by time. In gentler moments, the Suona captures the delicate patter of rain falling through forests, the soft murmur of flowing streams, the shimmering calls of frogs, and the quiet endurance of stone and soil.

“Feel the warmth of being embraced by the mountains, and quietly watch as mist caresses the peaks......” The work seeks to transport listeners into the heart of the mountains, fostering a deep and intimate connection with nature.

Originally commissioned by Suona virtuoso TSENG Yu-Yin, Detour to the Mountains premiered in 2023 at the Taipei National Recital Hall. For today’s performance, the composer has expanded it into a concerto for Suona and Chinese orchestra.
