Amtrak 108 The Phase VI Heritage Unit On Amtrak’s Carolinian In Efland NC 4/15 & 4/15/2023

Making a rare appearance outside of the Northeastern U.S, Amtrak 108, a unit painted in a special Phase VI livery made a round trip on Amtrak’s Carolinian. In this video we see 108 on both the Southbound and Northbound Carolinian’s at Redman Crossing outside of Efland NC. Amtrak 108 was able to make such a trip after deadheading one of Amtrak’s new Acela Avalia trainsets to Philadelphia PA before being run light to Ivy City in Washington D.C.. Amtrak tends to keep 108 northeastern routes due to having cab signals and PTC systems required for the multiple commuter railroads, regional and class one railroads operating there.
