At an event at the University of Wisconsin–Madison on Thursday, March 6, 2025, industry leaders, a volunteer research participant and leaders and researchers from the Universities of Wisconsin, UW–Madison, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee discussed the importance of federally funded health research and its impact across Wisconsin. They talk about critical research into Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and the role Wisconsinites are playing in seeking ways to combat debilitating diseases. Speakers include: Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman; UW–Madison Chancellor Jennifer L. Mnookin; UW–Madison professor and leader of the Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer’s Prevention (WRAP) study Sterling Johnson; WRAP study participant Sigrid Knuti; UW-Milwaukee professor and neuroscience area chair Karyn Frick; Wisconsin Technology Council President Tom Still; and Nicolas Paris, chair of the Board of Directors at BioForward and CEO at Gilson.
