ChargePoint Is Now Installing SAE J3400 Plugs!

It's happening, folks! ChargePoint is now deploying native SAE J3400 plugs at its charging sites, and so far, they've updated over a dozen of their sites in California. Because this standard uses the Tesla plug format but is based on CCS protocols, all that a CCS1 EV needs to use these plugs is a basic adapter. The big win for ChargePoint is that they'll be able increase site traffic by wooing Tesla drivers who don't want to use an adapter; however, in order for a Tesla EV to use J3400, they must first have the CCS1 compatibility update.
