The song HIPPIE comes from the album HIPPIE 2020 by the band ORBITA WIRU, founded in 1999. Initially, the music of this formation oscillated around alternative rock and metal. The later sound began to refer more to the traditions of hippies and pure rock, while not avoiding stronger riffs and faster rhythms. On February 20, 2020, the latest album of ORBITY WIRU entitled HIPPIE 2020 was released, published and distributed by Serwat Art Factory. Since the beginning, the leader of the trio ORBITA WIRU is an extremely talented musician and songwriter, Tomasz Serwatko, the current bassist – Sebastian Górski, and the drummer – Maciej Walencik.

NATURE – as we prefer: the wildlife - is the quintessence of freedom. That's why I proposed ORBITA WIRU’s HIPPIE in a new way, through the prism of nature experience. I myself, in my filmmaking and other creative work, am also, deep down, a hippie. I value freedom and independence most highly. The bison – the hero of my version of HIPPIE – is the animal archetype of freedom, strength and self-determination. He goes where he wants, lives how he wants. Already in his youth he is untamed, and when he grows up and transforms into a powerful bull-loner who can stand in his way? Hm..., how far some of us are from the bison, and others very, very close. This cinematic video with its artistically woven, thoughtful and finished music by ORBITA WIRU is the apotheosis of freedom. Metaphorically, of course, and with a ... wink. It is a glorification of the freedom and independence of the little bison and its adult reflection. It shows emotion. I think many viewers – visceral hippies – will find such states within themselves. I, in any case – following ORBITA – AM A LION. HA!
