This was the most difficult piano arrangement that I've ever done on my channel! It's funny because it doesn't look or sound that hard, but it very much is. I've been working on it for weeks and it took me at least a hundred takes to get an acceptable recording. I suppose this is my punishment for thinking that ANYTHING composed by Jake Kaufman wouldn't be "too hard."

Bucklers and Bonnets ended up being my favorite track from the Shovel Knight OST. It's hard to pick favorites, but this one got stuck in my head the most. I was surprised to see that there aren't really any covers of it on YouTube.

While arranging this, I ended up having to cut a lot of stuff out just to make it work on the piano and with my skill level. Virt's original track is so impressive and elegantly layered that it made me sad to take any of it out. However, there's so much going on that I don't think I could have completely done it justice on just one instrument. So with that in mind, I might revisit this one later with full instrumentation.

Even with "dumbing down" the arrangement, I still struggled with it, haha. The hardest part is that my left hand is bouncing around a lot, carrying the bass line and the chords, so I flubbed the rhythm a couple of times. It could have been a little tighter, but I think it was a pretty solid take overall.

I've been teasing a "big project" for a couple of months now and I'm happy to say that I have finally started production on it. You can expect to see the first part in the next week or so. I mentioned before that it is Final Fantasy related. It's going to span three videos and I expect the last part to be out either at the end of this month or early March. Dates are tentative because I still have a lot of lyrics to write. I think you guys are going to dig it.

Finally, just want to say thank you again for staying with me and watching my videos. It really means so much to me. I got recognized about a dozen times by fans at MAGFest last weekend and it put a big, dumb smile on my face every time. It melted my heart having people I've never met before come up to me and tell me that my music has made even a small difference in their lives. Thank you.
