5代百余年にわたって越前を支配した戦国大名朝倉氏が築いた城下町の遺跡。1967年に本格的な発掘調査が始まり、地中から見つかった朝倉館跡庭園をはじめ、湯殿跡庭園、諏訪館跡庭園、南陽寺跡庭園の四つの庭園が91年、国の特別名勝に指定された。遺跡博物館では、室町幕府最後の将軍である足利義昭をもてなしたとされる5代当主義景の居館を原寸大で一部再現している。

These are the remains of a castle town built by the Sengoku period feudal lord Asakura, who ruled Echizen for over 100 years over five generations. Full-scale excavation work began in 1967, and four gardens were discovered underground: the Asakura Residence Garden, the Yudono Residence Garden, the Suwa Residence Garden, and the Nanyo-ji Temple Garden. These were designated as Special Places of Scenic Beauty by the national government in 1991. The ruins museum features a full-scale partial reproduction of the residence of the fifth shogun, Tonosekage, who is said to have entertained Ashikaga Yoshiaki, the last shogun of the Muromachi shogunate.

这是由朝仓氏建造的城下町遗址，朝仓氏是战国时代的封建领主，曾统治越前五代一百多年。 1967年开始全面发掘，发现地下有朝仓家庭园、汤殿家庭园、诹访家庭园、南阳寺庭园等4处庭园，1991年被指定为国家特别名胜。塔。遗址博物馆按原尺寸再现了第五代将军足利义景的宅邸部分建筑，相传足利义景曾宴请室町幕府最后一位将军足利义昭。
