WTH?!? Black Student EXPELLED After Being Called Racial Slur On Playground | Roland Martin

The Principal of Madeleine School, a private Catholic school in Northeast Portland, is on leave after a firestorm of criticism over how she handled a disturbing incident involving a Black family.

Mike Phillips and Karis Stoudamire-Phillips say their 10-year-old son was called a 'racial slur' on the playground. When they demanded answers and a plan to address the racism, Principal Tresa Rast called the police on them! Just days later, the school expelled their son and cut ties with the family, citing a violation of the school's code of conduct.

Mike Phillips, the parent at the center of this story spoke with Roland Martin about family has endured and what changes he hopes to see for all children in our schools.
