[Overall Review]
The bridge width has been set a little wider recently, so even if it becomes sideways, if you can get it to a millimeter, the side sweep used in the video is effective.
Horizontal swipes, slides, side sweeps, and for big boxes with less power, vertical insertion seems to be the basic tactics these days.

[What is "approaching"?]
"Approaching" as used in the video means bringing the arm closer to the prize.
If it's right-approaching, bring the right arm closer to the prize.
If it's left-approaching, bring the left arm closer to the prize.
