Foxy Puppet with Moving Tongue- Proof of Concept (Five Nights at Freddy’s)

Full disclosure, this is just a rather sloppy side project. I don’t have any immediate intentions to develop it further, it was just a fun experiment, but who knows.

The head was not made with the tongue in mind. I had this half-finished Foxy head lying around that was going to be for a project I had scrapped, but when quarantine blocked my access to the wondrous and addictive dark magic that is 3D-printing, I had to scrounge around for projects I could work on with just what I had. This head was just sitting there in pieces, so I decided to whip it up into something vaguely useable and shove a tongue down its throat.

The tongue is made of a long tiangular piece of sheet plastic, the kind of stuff that lets you see a product through its packaging. It curls up and down with a tentacle mechanism, where fishing line is threaded down the length of the triangle on the top and bottom and attached to a simple controller on the outside. The metallic segments play no part in how it works, that’s just to make it look more accurate.
