【福岡／日本遺産】大宰府政庁跡／古代日本の西の都跡 - Dazaifu Government Office Ruins in FUKUOKA, JAPAN

大宰府政庁跡は、福岡県太宰府市にある国の特別史跡。
7世紀後半に、九州の筑前国に設置された地方行政機関であります。
7世紀後半から12世紀後半、大宰府は九州全体を治め、外交と防衛の窓口としても機能しました。
広大な跡地には、現在も大宰府の大きさをしのばせる立派な礎石が数多く残っています。
平成27年（2015年）「古代日本の『西の都』〜東アジアとの交流拠点〜」として日本遺産に認定。
万葉集で遠の朝廷と詠まれたここ大宰府は、現在では史跡公園として人々の憩いの場となっています。

Dazaifu Government Office Ruins is a national special historic site located in Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
It was a local administrative institution established in the Chikuzen Province of Kyushu in the late 7th century.
From the late 7th to the late 12th century, Dazaifu governed the entire Kyushu region and served as a window for diplomacy and defense.
The vast site still retains a magnificent foundation stone that reminds us of the size of the Dazaifu.
In 2015, the site was recognized as a Japan Heritage site as the "Western Capital of Ancient Japan: A Center of Exchange with East Asia.
Dazaifu, which was called the distant imperial court in the Manyoshu poetry anthology, is now a historical site park where people can relax.
