Sergio Femar finished his residency at the 𝗱𝗰 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. He worked hard for three months, creating twenty-six pieces to fulfill the project he presented for the residency. In this project, the artist continued working with recycled materials, primarily local wood, collected from different sources in the city.

Femar's work defies traditional media classification. His pieces resemble paintings but have a three-dimensional quality. He refers to them as "object painting" or "expanded painting on the wall."

The artist is interested in dominating space within his pieces and the surrounding environment. During the residency, he created three sculptures to engage in a dialogue with his "paintings." The artist aimed to make pieces that viewers could appreciate from different angles. Two sculptures were made of wood, while the third, The Gateway, incorporated metal and stones and represents a new direction for his work.

The city greatly influenced Femar's perception, which is evident in the presence of bright colors like pink, yellow, and green. The titles of his works, such as Blue Jay, Flamingo, Poinciana, Strangler Fig, Florida, and Groove, also reflect this influence.
