Aircraft Ferry Adventure: First Ever Trip to ALASKA (Part 1)

I was in the fledgling stages of becoming a ferry pilot when I got a call from new aircraft owner asking if I could take a PA-12 from Kansas to Alaska. Of course I couldn't say no! The key was that he never asked specifically if I had flown to Alaska before, so perhaps I left out that detail at the time, but I certainly wasn't going to let the fact that I had never done it stop me from trying.

I did lots of research ahead of time and thankfully I had adequate time to prepare. I'm also very thankful I live in a time where information is abundantly available for research ahead of time and there are lots of other extremely useful resources out there to help the flight along the way.

Stay tuned for the second part of this trip as I have a lot more footage from that part and I faced many more challenges along the way as we made our way from Toad River to Anchorage.
