We are building a Backcountry Hut on top of a mountain in New Zealand’s South Island. The new Brass Monkey Bivvy is located in the middle of the Lewis Pass, a 6-7 hour walk up from Maruia Hot Springs. Located on the main divide, a mountain saddle where the rivers flow west one way and east the other, its windy! In this episode we haul all of our tools up via helicopter and spend 5 days building a hut that will be open to the public soon!
