Here's the next Three-For-All lesson and this time we're tackling three lick ideas pulled from Warren DeMartini's live solo from 1987. Ratt was in the middle of their 'Dancing Undercover' tour when Warren pulled this solo out of his hat, and there are three interesting concepts you can learn here from him.

The first idea revolves around a wicked open-string pull-off idea that flirts with an A7 tonality. The second idea utilizes a wide-interval stretch and flirts with two unisons occur within the pattern, which helps create a blurry and unusual sound not to mention a considerable challenge for the frethand pinky finger.

The final lick sounds similar to something you might hear Jake E. Lee perform and I have my suspicions that Warren may have lifted this idea from Jake, as they were roommates once upon a time, and between Warren, Jake, and also George Lynch - these three players have shared music, gear, licks, jokes, and friendship for decades.
